Ghanaian comedian DKB has recounted how he almost knelt down in apology to former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Mahama following a 2015 performance shortly after the infamous #DumsorMustStop protests.

In a post on his Twitter handle on June 25, 2024, DKB recounted how, despite leading a "dumsor" demonstration against Mahama in 2015, he was warmly embraced by the former president just four months later during a performance for Mahama and the Ethiopian Prime Minister.

Describing Mahama as non-discriminatory, he pointed out that the gesture by the former president made him nearly kneel down to apologize.

"Mahama doesn't discriminate! In 2015, I did a dumsor demo against him. Four months later, I performed for him and the Ethiopian Prime Minister. During the photo ops, he embraced me and showed me love."

"The regret filled my heart at that moment. I nearly knelt down to apologize to him," he posted.

This post was in response to comments by fellow entertainer Agya Koo, who declared his admiration for Mahama despite his support for the ruling party.

In a video trending on social media, Kumawood actor Agya Koo, who is a known supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), cut short a funeral performance due to heckling from an attendee supporting Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Agya Koo revealed that he frequently interacts with Mahama and has been invited to his home for conversations.

The comments by the two actors come as the country gears up for the 2024 general elections set for December 7, 2024.

Mahama will be competing against Vice-President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, New Force Movement leader Nana Kwame Bediako, and Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen.
