The grand finale for the Male Icon Ghana 2011 search for an intellectual and exemplary young icon, will come off at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra on Saturday, September10. Dubbed ‘the search for the perfect gentleman’ the event aims at empowering young men and introducing them to a world of possibilities through mentorship.
The 10 finalists have individually met their mentors from across the country as part of their participation in the competition. Mentors included musician Kwabana Kwabena, actress Yvonne Okoro, actor Adjetey Annang, presenter/musician Jon Germain, news anchor Gideon Aryeequaye, and presenter/comedian KSM, among others.
During the finale, the public will find out what the finalists have learnt from these great men and women in a night of fashion, music and intellects. Competing for the title are Elorm Anyadi and Kwabena (Central University College), Benjamin Arthur and Mosore Mosorezo (University of Ghana), Raphael Addo (Zenith College), Kwabena Adu Gyamfi Atta Jr. (Takoradi Polythenic), Abdul Tofik, (Designer), Sylvanus Bedzrah (writer), Maxwel Ohene Kena (student Journalist) and Anthony Wood (Actor).
The winner of Male Icon Ghana will assume the role of a youth ambassador and work with Needy Kidz Foundation, an N.G.O for children as well as join the John Hopkins BCS project as an ambassador for the ‘Good life- live it well’ campaign to sensitize Ghanaians especially young people about living healthy lifestyles for a good life. Music for the night will be provided by young and upcoming artistes.
