Tema, Jan. 15, GNA- A 19-year-old man who stole two sheep to sell to enable him to pay his debts was bonded to be of good behaviour for 36 months, or go to prison for three months by the Juaso circuit court. Yaw Kussasi, alias Ayaba, who pleaded guilty was also fined 600,000 cedis. He will go to jail for six months if he fails to pay the fine. Chief Inspector Salifu Haruna told the court that on January 6, Kussasi, who claimed to be a farmer at Boankra village near Agogo, stole two sheep, which had been tied behind a house.
He said he sold the two sheep to a chop bar operator at Agogo at 350,000 cedis.
The prosecutor said the chop bar operator, after a second thought, suspected that the sheep were stolen and therefore, reported the case to the assemblyman in the area.
The complainant came to the chop bar operator and identified the sheep as hers. A report was then made to the police and the accused was arrested.
