Sekondi, May 13, GNA- Nineteen year old Barina Baana alias Benya Alhassan was on Thursday sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment in hard labour for unlawful entry.
He pleaded not guilty.
Police Sergeant Andam Okyere told the court that on December 31, 2003, Madam Grace Arthur, a trader resident at Effiakuma night market area woke up around 0250 hours and found that her house was dark. The prosecutor said on switching on the light, she saw the accused standing beside her in the dark room so she raised an alarm. Sgt. Okyere said the accused who attempted to run away was arrested by people around and handed over to the Police.
Before passing sentence, Mr. Yao Seyram Tsatsu, said the accused who had appeared before the court for similar offences, had been bonded to be of good behaviour on two separate occasions.
