A man has been playing hide and seek with the Bailiff of a Kumasi High Court by leaving his house at dawn and returning after midnight.
Mr Otu Acheampong, second defendant in a case involving Kejetia Traders Association, Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) and others, has thus not been served with the summons.
In an affidavit in support of a contempt motion, Nana Samuel Kofi Boateng, Chairman of the Kejetia Traders Association also known as "Mighty 18", said on November 25, 2001, an application for continued contempt was filed against the respondents.
It said that so far all the respondents had been served except Acheampong, who has been evading service adding that, Acheampong's wife told him (Boateng) in the presence of the Court Bailiff that her husband left the house very early in the morning and returned around midnight.
Nana Boateng, therefore, appealed to the court to serve the summons on Acheampong by substituted service on his wife in his place of abode.
The court presided over by Miss Mariama Owusu on Monday ordered that the summons should be served on Acheampong's wife, Ama Bonsu at his last place at abode.
It should also be pasted at the Court Registry and his last place of abode at Odeneho Kwadaso in Kumasi for seven days.
