Man charged of incest

Tarkwa (W/R), July 19, GNA - A Circuit Court at Tarkwa on Friday remanded John Mensah, 27, unemployed, in prison custody for having sexual intercourse with his sister. The suspect's plea was not taken and he would re-appear on August 5, 2003.

Prosecuting, Inspector Constance Addo of Tarkwa police said the victim, a student, on July 12, 2003, went to collect school fees from the father at Damang near Tarkwa.

She said around midnight on that day, the accused entered the victim's room, gagged her sister and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

The victim shouted and when her father went to her rescue, Mensah jumped through the window and fled. The case was reported to the police and the accused was arrested.
