The Prosecution said a number of suspects were arrested for the offence. On December 28, 1999 upon a tip off, the Police arrested Lartey, alias Theo, at Gbawe with the assorted electrical gadgets of the deceased.

It said fingerprints taken by the Police tallied with those on the vehicle.

During interrogation, Lartey confessed and named his accomplices as Shola Ogunkiled and Fred Olla, both Nigerians, who are at large. Lartey also said one Sulley Asamoah, the Houseboy of the deceased, who was used as a Prosecution Witness, was the one who brought the idea of robbing his master for failing to pay him regularly.

Asamoah denied the allegation but stated that Lartey was his friend, who visited him regularly at the residence of the deceased.
