Manhunt Finds Best Male Model Tonight

When it comes to pageants on beauty and fashion, the spotlight has largely been on ladies. For this reason talented young men who have the body, confidence and intelligence to make it big in the fashion and advertising industries have been neglected.

All that may change tonight when Ghana hosts its first male modelling contest in Accra. The show, Manhunt-International (Ghana), will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre at 7pm.

Thirteen sharp-looking models will vie for the ticket to represent Ghana at the Manhunt International contest to be held in Korea in September.

The 13 contestants who have qualified to walk, talk and show their talents for the ultimate crown are Miguel Ammah, Leslie Donkor, Michael Wellington, Solomon Botchway, Benjamin Nana Addo Asiedu, Leonard Okorie and George Spark.

The rest are Akwasi Appiagyei, Reginald Genego, Andrews Addy, Stephen Nana Yaw Davor, Fred Kwatia and Nana Kofi Akyeampong.

According to the organisers, Comet Productions Limited, Manhunt aims at promoting new faces for the modelling and fashion industry.

Contestants are judged on catwalk and runway skills, style and self-confidence. They are also tested on their photogenic features.

Their physical attributes should project a healthy lifestyle, youthfulness and vitality but not necessarily ?macho? since the contest is not about body-building.

A lean, well-toned body and healthy looking body is what the judges look out for.

Some of Ghana?s hot artistes will rock patrons with songs from their various collections. They include the ?Tuobodom boys?, Nkasei, Slim Busterr, Tinny, Praye, Tic Tac and Sidney.

This year?s event will seek to promote discipline in society. The man who is eventually crowned Manhunt-Ghana 2005 will lead the campaign against indiscipline.
