Mariam Patty Crowned New Face Miss Ghana

Inna Mariam Patty 21, a B.Sc (Admin.) student of the University of Ghana (UG) representing the Ashanti region, emerged as the winner of the New Face Miss Ghana pageant held at the International conference centre in Accra at the weekend. For her prize, she picked a Honda City saloon car, US$10,000, ?15million worth of LG appliances, ?50milion wardrobe for one year, a ticket to Miss World in 2005 and ?2million monthly allowance. She was followed by a 19-year-old Ingrid Alabi, a student of Alliance Francaise, representing the Upper West Region who took away a modern set of living room furniture worth US$5,000, ?10million and ?7million worth of LG appliances.

For her prize, she received an amount of ?5milion, a set of 18 carat gold jewellery worth ?5million and ?5million worth of LG appliances. All the other contestants received consolation prizes of ?2million each, Revlon beauty products, Akosombo Textile Limited (ATL) products and certificates of participation.
