Timaya is a Nigerian singer
Nigerian singer Timaya has asserted that getting married at the moment may not be the best decision.
In a viral video with his colleague Paul Okoye, Timaya said it might be better for people to have children and move on with their lives rather than get married, arguing that marriage does not seem to work out anymore.
“Just have the child and move on. This marriage thing doesn’t seem to work anymore,” Timaya said.
One would recall that recently, the singer explained why he is still unmarried despite his successful career.

Also, in a 2024 interview with Naija FM, Timaya disclosed that he has never really fancied getting married, stating that it is not something he has ever been drawn to.
However, he did not completely rule out the possibility of changing his mind in the future.
“I’ve never been a married guy right from time but it can change because marriage ‘dey craze’? I just look at it like if I marry today, would I be able to get out? In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress”, he said.
Timaya explained that his hesitation towards marriage is largely due to his desire for freedom and dislike for stress.
The singer also emphasised the importance of open communication in relationships, noting that he values honesty and transparency.
“If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things, I go die o. I don’t like anything to bother me at all,” he explained.
