Winner of Miss Ghana 2019, Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi has asked the media to desist from “parading” all sorts of appalling news about the brand.

The pageant has been saddled with contentions including the incessant resignation of beauty queens in the last couple of years plus the unsubstantiated claims of scam, fraud, ‘pimping’ and tyrannical leadership has since left questions on the mind of many.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi who spoke at this year’s launch of Miss Ghana 2020 said, contrary to the many bad rumours blown-out, the event has chalked unprecedented successes and has been of immense help to many individuals and societies.

“I have become tougher and more focused through it all, including the criticisms from the media. Every organisation has its own challenges but the media seem to focus so much on the negatives rather than helping to project the positives. Ghana can also win Miss World, once the media plays its rightful role in positively projecting Ghana,” she added.

The reigning beauty queen also noted, the primary objective and roles of Miss Ghana have over the years been focused on positively impacting the lives of Ghanaians, adding that organisers have done a remarkable work on changing the lives of the less fortunate in society, creating social entrepreneurs and training the youth.

“Miss Ghana remains focused with the beauty with purpose agenda which is for the benefit of the larger society. They are helped with series of charity events such as blood donation, scoliosis, kid’s bazaar, donations to orphanage, etc.,” she identified.
