Meet the fashion designer Mimi Plange

Mimi Plange, a Ghanaian-American fashion designer talks to trueafrica.co about her womenswear label Mimi Plange, why luxury industry is turning to African products and the importance of different sources of inspiration as a designer.

Plange was recently honoured at the 2015 FACE List Awards. She graduated from the University of California with a degree in Architecture and has become one of the most successful African fashion designers, garnering attention from notable personalities including Michelle Obama, Serena Williams and Rihanna.

She won Designer of the Year at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, South Africa in 2012.
