Megan & Luumva crowned salsa king and queen

Friday the 5th of July, the Banquet Hall was filled with close up salsa fiesta lovers who came to witness the crowning of the salsa king and queen for the season 3 of close up salsa fiesta.

It was a fierce competition as all six salsa couples brought their A game to the competition.

Prior to the naming of winners, the chanting of the crowd had two clear names- Luumva! Megan! And indeed, at the end of the 4 hour event, Luumva and Megan were adjudged the salsa king and queen for the couples contest, walking away with GHC 6000.

The brand manager for Close up, Mrs. Patience Oforiwa Mpereh, in her opening speech encouraged consumers to continue using Close up because “Close up now offers you 3 x fresher breath, which gives you 3x the confidence to draw even closer to your friends and loved ones”.

The judges for the grand finale were Joshua Ansah, Naomi Nelson and a guest judge Rosina Kwawukume. The judges had 50 percent and the public also had 50 percent power to determine who becomes the salsa king and queen and the best group winner.

Behind the music was Ghana’s finest salsa disk jockey, DJ Cosby who got salsa lovers dancing their heart outs to line dances and hit salsa songs for hours.

The learner’s group competition was keenly contested nonetheless the audience fell in love with Salsa Mingle (the salsa group from Legon), and therefore it came as no surprise as they won the learners group competition. They were presented with a trophy and cash prize of GHC 4000.

EL and Keche were on point with their performances; both musicians had the crowd dancing and singing their songs. It was a night of fun, music and magnificent salsa dance moves.

Patrons of this year’s close up salsa fiesta were excited because they had incredible fun watching the couples’s competition and also enjoyed the standing ovation performances by EL and Keche.

Close up early this year re-launched the Red Hot and Menthol Fresh Close up toothpaste which provides consumers 3x fresher breath for the confidence to get closer to people.

Rumors speculating have it that this year’s Close Up Salsa Fiesta saw awesome salsa dance moves exhibited by the contestants and with the captivating grand finale showdown; the bar has been raised therefore, subsequent Close Up Salsa Fiesta competition will be more competitive, fun and exciting.
