Dancehall icon Stonebwoy, in a phone interview with Hitz FM’s King Lagazee Sunday afternoon, has described purported attempts by Bulldog and a band of men to seize his Mercedes Benz last night, as a “robbery attack”.
A clash was reported at the Champs Bar in Accra last night, during a Kelvin Boy gig. Eyewitnesses narrate that Bulldog and his men to seize Stonebwoy’s Mercedes Benz when the singer’s younger brother went to get something from the vehicle. The car key was reportedly snatched from him, together with a wallet containing about GHC 5000.
CEO of the Burniton Music Group, Stonebwoy stressed that he purchased the Benz himself, and has paperwork to support it.
When asked about reports that he fired gunshots, he did not deny it, indicating that that act was done in self defence.
Stonebwoy was mute on his current working relationship with Zylofon Music, who owns the rights to his recently-released “Epistles Of Mama” album, among other things.
Winner of several awards including VGMA Artist of the Year and BET Best International Act: Africa (both in 2015), Stonebwoy is in the running with Sarkodie, Ebony, Shatta Wale, and Joe Mettle for 2017 VGMA Artist of the Year. He also recently partnered Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan for a single titled “Dirty Enemies”.
A complaint of assault has since been reported to the Nima Police.
