“Who would continue your good musical art? Oh, Michael! Why have you left us like this?” These were some of the numerous rhetorical questions that family members and friends of the late musician, Michael Dwamena asked while weeping uncontrollably, when the mortal remains of the late music star was being interred. The late singer was buried last Saturday at the Osu Cemetery in Accra after he was laid in state from 4am till 12 noon at house number A235/20, South Odokor Estate, near the May Educational Centre.

Family and friends could not leave the cemetery immediately as they stood around his grave and waited in tears for the grave to be covered.

The burial ceremony was however poorly attended by his colleagues in the music industry who were anticipated to be there in their numbers to pay their departed colleague their last respect.

The final funeral rites were held at the VAG Club House near the Ghana Immigration Service offices and the Trade Fair Center concurrently.

Beatwaves investigations revealed there was misunderstanding over the venue for the final funeral rites among family members and that accounted for the different locations.

Michael Dwamena, 44, died in a Texas hospital in the United States of America on July 28 after complaining of severe stomachache. Media reports indicated that “autopsy on him showed that he had toxin in his pancreas”.
