Veteran actor, William Addo was in the news not long ago asking Ghanaians to help him generate Gh5000 else he might lose his sight.

The sixty-six-year-old was reported to have said his effort to get support from Cultural Forum, Ghana Actors Guild, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts yielded no results after sending letters to these bodies but Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare says government gave death ears to his call for a reason.

Speaking to Hitz FM news, she explained that government did not give a helping hand when William Addo needed GhC5000 because people had offered to help when government was preparing to help him.

“He was seeking help from the ministry and before we even prepared, I think an FM station had paid for it.

The idea of seeking for money is not to enrich you but to pay for a certain bill. If it's been taken care of, we don’t think we have to pay that same amount again”
