Newly crowned face of Asogli 2014, Miss Dzifa Nukulenu, on Saturday, September 20, is reported to have escaped death narrowly when a pick-up vehicle in which she was traveling with her family rammed into a parked Kia truck.
The father of the beauty queen, who was said to be driving the pick-up reportedly died on the spot.
Miss Nukulenu and her mother were revived at the Peki Government Hospital but are said to be in critical conditions.
Chairman of the 2014 Asogli Yam Festival Planning Committee, Togbe Kotoko XI told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that Miss Nukulenu and her family were going back home to Peki from a dinner dance to climax this year’s Asogli Yam Festival in Ho.
He said the vehicle in which Miss Nukulenu and her family drove run into the parked Kia truck full of charcoal between Asikuma and Peki.
Miss Nukulenu, 21, a level 200 student of the University of Ghana was crowned face of Asogli 2014 on Saturday, September 13, 2014 and was presented with a car prize.
She was also made the Educational Ambassador for Asogli State and tasked to help address poor academic performance of pupils in the area.
