Miss Ghana Foundation, the charity arm of the Miss Ghana pageant on Boxing Day, donated items worth thousands of Ghana cedi to the Teshie Orphanage in Accra.

Items including beverages, confectioneries, soft drinks, and general consumer goods were donated to the Orphanage. The Foundation also donated an undisclosed sum of money to the facility.

Led by Miss Ghana 2012 Naa Okailey Shooter and her two runner-ups Nadia Ntanu and Jennifer Annan, the team also organized a mini Christmas party for the children.

The children, who had a nice time with all three winners, wore beautifully crafted Christmas caps, also donated by the Foundation, and danced the afternoon away.

Visibly touched by the kind gesture of the Miss Ghana Foundation, authorities of the facility thanked the team for spending time with them on Boxing Day, adding that it will go a long way to motivate the orphans.

Inna Maryam Patty, Chairwoman of the Miss Ghana Foundation reiterated her outfit’s commitment to using the platform to enhance communities and affect as many lives as they can.

The Miss Ghana Foundation she said: “Is here to stay”.

The initiative to set up a foundation she says “is to have all Miss Ghana titleholders and their runner-ups in addition to regional queens, work under the Miss Ghana Foundation so as to ensure all projects are sustainable and for the long term, to positively impact lives”.

“We are committed to ensuring that as much as we can, we transform lives of the less privileged positively.

“The Miss Ghana brand isn’t just about being cosmetic or overly posh on screen. There is more to it, and we are hopeful that through the Miss Ghana Foundation, we will be able to achieve that”.

The Miss Ghana Foundation aims among other things, to use the platform the pageant offers, to contribute immensely to the socio-economic development of the country, rising to pressing challenges of initiatives and stories that underscores and underpins its values.

The general theme of the Miss Ghana Foundation is Beauty with a Purpose, an essential fraction of the larger scope of the pageant.
