The Miss Ghana UK 2013 Queen, Miss Janet Djan, on Monday 19th May 2014 visited the Osu Children’s Home where she interacted with the authorities and spent some time with the children.
During her visit, she donated assorted items ranging from boxes of drinks, biscuits and toiletries, to the management of the orphanage.
After the donation, Miss Janet Djan said “I am very excited with the work the management of the home is doing to affect the lives of these wondering children.
Knowing some of the challenges they are facing now, the Miss Ghana UK Foundation will exploit ways to generate funds to ensure we can support them at all times”.
Miss Janet Djan is currently in the country to carry out projects in the area of education with students in selected schools as well as corporate bodies as the brand ambassador of the Miss Ghana UK Foundation, the corporate social investment arm of the Miss Ghana UK scheme, the most prestigious beauty pageant show in the United Kingdom.
On Thursday 22nd May 2014, the Miss Ghana UK 2013 Queen will have a talking session with students of Alsyd Academy to encourage them on the need to take their education seriously.
After that, Miss Janet Djan, she will also organize a reading clinic at the Mamprobi South 3 Primary School on Friday 23rd May to sensitize the students on the need to cultivate a reading culture to be good speakers of the English language. She will also donate a range of books and other educational materials to the school after the reading clinic.
Miss Janet Djan will also be doing a series of media interviews to talk about her project in Ghana as well as the importance and benefits of investing into the education of the younger generation, who are the future leaders of the country.
