Gifty Tawiah Sakuo, Miss Ngmayem 2016
Bold, confident & beautiful Miss Gifty Tawiah Sakuo from Piegua division in the Manya krobo, odumase(eastern region) was crowned Miss at Liberty hotel, kodjonya, odumase krobo.
Miss Ngmayem is a festival beauty pageant organized under the umbrella of Manya krobo traditional council.
The aim of this pageant is to promote the cultural values of Manya krobo. It draws people from far and near to come to and witness. The show normally start late in the evening around 10:00pm; instead of the prescribed 7:00pm and ends around 2:00am.
Eight contestants were selected from the six divisional areas, these are Dorm, Manya, Suisi, Akwenor, Piegua, Djebiam.
These beautiful ladies undergo a vigorous auditioning process before they are finally picked. they also go through an intensive grooming process to prepare them for the final show. The final day of the 2016 Miss Ngmayem was held at Liberty hotel, Kodjonya, odumase krobo where the eight(8) finalists went through 5 rounds of activities before the winner was selected.
She had a command over the krobo dialect with other promising talents. And for her award as the ultimate winner she took home cash prize of GHc3,000 and products from ATL & GTP. The first runner up also received cash of GHc 1,500 and products from GTP & ATL, whilst the second runner up was given cash of GHc1,000 and products from ATL & GTP.
Title sponsor for this year's beauty pageant was Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank and supported by GTP & ATL.
The audience were also treated with good performance from Wisa, Don Brainy, Naya & Sugar.
