Miss Tourism Ghana 2011 Audition Held

Miss Charlotte Sika Quagrine, the current reigning Miss Tourism Ghana queen would soon hand over the prestigious mantle to another fortunate lady this September. This was confirmed when eleven beauties were last Saturday selected at an audition session at the MJ Grand Hotel at East Legon in Accra to vie for the title of Ghana's Tourism Queen 2011 after a competitive battle of wits, beauty, eloquence and style. It was all excitement and joy amidst some touching moments when these stunning, silky and intelligent young ladies out of a large number of prospective entrants, made it to the finals.

Their main aim is to promote youth participation in the country's tourism development drive. The queen will also represent Ghana at the Miss Tourism Queen International. On the domestic front, she will work closely with the Ghana Tourism Board, the Ministry of Tourism and other tourism promotion and development bodies in the country to push forward Ghana's tourism development agenda.

The lucky 11 who were selected from the lot are, Priscilla Asare, Patience Akosuitor Avorgbedor, Emefa Akosua Adeti, Evelyn Enyonam Hadzor and Michaella Maame Araba Etwire. The rest are Ida Abaanya Seidu, Jennifer Akun Annan, Golda Aba Dayi, Sandra Abena Dankwa, and Evelyna Asenath Ababio with Joseline Basin-Abe Boom as a stand-by candidate. The Grand finals of the Miss Tourism Ghana 2011 pageant will be held in September after the contestants have been camped and gone through several activities including personal grooming.

Last Saturday's audition session attracted ladies who displayed appreciable knowledge about Ghana's tourism products. They also gave impressive suggestions about how to tap Ghana's potential to become a tourism hub in Africa. This is the third edition with the maiden Miss Tourism Ghana pageant held in 2009.
