One of the most influential beauty pageants, Miss Tourism Ghana is marking its tenth anniversary and as part of that organizers have unveiled a new logo to keep to the promise of promoting tourism in Ghana. At the launch on April 24, 2019, at the MJ Grand Hotel, East Legon, personalities from the tourism industry including the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Tourism Authority, Honourable Akwesi Agyeman, South African Ambassador to Ghana, Lulu Xingwana and more were present.

Honourable Akwesi Agyemang expressed his appreciation and praised the organizers of the pageant for their ardent adherence to the improvement of tourism in the country and also for nurturing beauty women who are setting examples to others by sticking to the traditional values and develop the interest in the cultural heritage of the country. He further touched on a campaign that's very paramount to the authority, wear Ghana, eat Ghana and feel Ghana.

The South African ambassador to Ghana, Lulu Xingwana used the occasion to address sanitation problems at some of the tourist sites in the country citing 'Nzulezu' in the Western Region as an example. Though it's a beautiful place, it will be deprived of that if care is not taking.

She revealed that South Africa was able to attract tourists into the country due to its clean beaches and other sites and more, living a mark in the minds visitors.

This year will be different than the previous ones as organizers have opened the door for young ladies between the ages of 18-24 to audition and participate in the event. The winner will have the opportunity to represent Ghana on the international stage, other domestic tourism events and also used the platform to elevate the image of tourism further.

Mrs Brew-Hammond, the Chief Executive Officer of the pageant shared the story from the humble beginning through the struggle to the current respected stage of the pageant. she added that the pageant will not veer away from its main aim of raising and grooming well-mannered young ladies to champion the good-cause of tourism in Ghana.
