Tema, Feb 03, GNA - The Tema Circuit Court "B" on Tuesday remanded in custody a man, who used tricks to steal two mobile phones and a camera from three friends from Gomoa Buduburam.

Michael Quarshiga alias Dada pleaded guilty to stealing Nokia mobile phone, but not guilty to stealing Samsung mobile phone and a camera. He would reappear on February 23, 200.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Ben Agbedanu told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that Quarshiga, who resided at Buduburam Refugee Camp, in 1990 left for Liberia after a year; he returned to the camp on December 24, 2003 and met Mr Kofi Asare, who introduced him (accused) to two other friends at the camp.

He said on December 27, 2003, Quarshigah took Mr Asare's Samsung mobile phone to make a call, but did not return it to him.

Then on December 28, he asked Mr Walton Bucha Morgan, a Liberian and his friends to accompany him to Tema to see his relatives and borrowed a Fuji camera of Mr Kwasi Badu.

Inspector Agbedanu said the accused instead of sending them to Tema, rather took them to a hotel in Accra, and bought food and drinks for them, adding he collected the Nokia cell phone from Mr Morgan that he was going to recharge it with some units and bolted with it. He said, on December 29, Quarshiga was arrested in another case and handed over to Police. The two mobile phones and the camera were found with him when he was searched.
