MorGhana Ballet presents No More War! their ground breaking dance theatre in collaboration with the National Theatre on Friday March 19 2004 at 7.30pm and a special show for children on Saturday March 20 at 4pm.
The internationally acclaimed American dancers, Tyren Thomas and Morgan Thomas bring a sensational fusion of classical ballet and African music, telling the heart rendering story of how the people under King Agokoli of Notsie, Togo, overcame bondage and suffering to win their freedom.
The story is a powerful allegory of the human condition and our determination to succeed in all circumstances and against all the odds. There is a message there for everyone. The story is colourfully told through expressive dance movements choreographed by the talented duo.
The dancers are from the celebrated National Dance Company and the dynamic Dance Factory of the National Theatre. The National Symphony Orchestra provides the classical music that combines powerfully with the rhythmic African drums that set the pace to the story.
The result is a truly magical performance. Using minimum props, the production relies on the skills of the talented cast and focused direction to deliver its sensational impact.Tyren Thomas and Morgan Thomas have performed internationally to critical acclaim.
In Ghana their reputation is growing rapidly having appeared on national television and the National Theatre, the British Council and the State House among other places.
