With the belief that African Beauty for sometime has been sidelined due to the influx of European culture, Aronoel Royal Venture, an event organiser is coming up with a unique pageant that will see African Beauty in full glare. Unlike other pageants that Ghanaians are used to, this pageant is looking at plump young women with flat stomache, segemented neck and beautiful curves.

Dubbed ?Most Ideal Woman?,the pageant is opened to young, single African women between the ages of 18years and 26years who possess at least SSS or O?Level certificates. Contestants must also be able to communicate fluently in at least two Ghanaian languages.

In an interview with Showbiz after a photo shoot session at the Wangara Hotel in Accra over the weekend, Ms Leonora Buckman of Aronoel Royal Venture said the pageant, which was in its preliminary stages with registration still open aimed at sensitising the African youth to our culture, showcasing diversity of our culture, unearthing leadership qualities, dynamism and confidence of the African youth and promoting African beauty, fashion and tourism.

Ms Buckman added that the pageant will boost the morale of the ladies and facilitate the mobilisation and organisation of full flesh ladies for community and national development.

?After the pageant, the ladies would also be groomed as models for fashion houses, appear on both screen and photo advertisements of major companies,? she said ?this will unearth and encourage the unique talent that exists in our women.?

Aronoel Royal Venture is working towards tying business ventures with sister African countries to make the idea a success for Africa. In Ghana, the contest will be organised on regional basis which will be split into three sectors ? Northern, Middle and Southern.

Three ladies will be selected from each sector to participate in the ultimate contest in Accra at the National Theatre during the first quarter of 2005. In addition to a round trip to South Africa, the ?Most Ideal Woman? will take home a DVD and 14inch colour television, 10 pieces of wax print, cooking utensils and souvenirs from sponsors and donors.

The first runner-up will take a trip to Kenya, and also be given a refrigerator and set of kitchen tools and souvenirs from sponsors and donors. The second runner-up will take a trip to Nigeria in addition to a ghetto blaster, dining set and souvenirs from sponsors and donors.

The rest will receive hampers and souvenirs from sponsors. The first edition of the pageant then dubbed ?Miss Plump and Beautiful? was held at the Du-Bois Centre in November 1999.
