Most memorable music videos in 2015

The year 2015 saw some best motion pictures that took the music industry to another level.

Music videos have long become a tradition artiste’s use in portraying concepts and conveying various thematic messages to their fans and music lovers.

With budgets growing for music videos, so has artistes raised their standards to meet such inevitable changes.

Some may argue, why spend lots when music videos rarely even surpass 5mins and people's attention span don't help. But songs cannot lose their value in such a way. Then again, pictures they say are worth a thousand words not forgetting the issue of branding and captivating YouTube views in a short possible time.

From club banging scenes, hot models and fast cars, to great cinematography & choreography stunts; we’ve seen it all in recent music videos.

Without further ado, here are the top 10 pick of 2015 in no particular order.

The CRUSADE – Donzy ft. Kofi Kinaata: The Yaw Skyface directed music video portrays a satirical setting of the Church system fused with artistic comic drama. The duo (Donzy & Kinaata) plays a Pastor and his translator preaching to their congregation, although the setting is pretty simple, the drama filled video will urge you to watch it all over again.

New Guy – Sarkodie ft. Ace Hood: Although he had already won a BET award on American oil, this collabo was his way of introducing himself musically, for the first time Sarkodie was jumping on a track with an American artiste (a rapper for records sake). To cap it off, ace director Justin Campos of Gorilla Films shot the Sarkcess Music and Ivy League video in the states.

Nineteen Ninety – Omar Sterling aka Paedae: Paedae have been waiting to enter his personal favorite element as a rapper and this video gave him the perfect timing to do that. Shot in the states, Omar Sterling takes us through a normal day he usually spends with his R2bees label mates in the crip, and you can picture it all. The video portrays lifestyle of someone having a good time with drinks, blowing some trees and posting moments on social media in the Justin Campos directed video. Hip-hop heads will keep this on repeat for a while.

Diabetes – Keche ft Bisa K’Dei: The hiplife recording duo have really upped their game in recent years and their Diabetes video manifested the rejuvenated brand Keche boasts of now. Shot in an all built set by talented directed Snares Beats, the video portrayed Andrew and Joshua in an indoor pool-like luxury yogurt filled pond. The video depicts a typical relaxation moment that has come to be associated with celebs.

Skolom – VVIP ft Sena Dagadu: This video by VVIP shot at the Republic Bar in Osu featured Sena Dagadu, in a palm wine ‘’joint’’ thematic motion picture. The video generally depicts the trio; Zeal, Prodigal and Reggie Rockstone in an all white party like scene with cameo appearances by Wanluv Da Kuborlor. Mensa and his new group mate of ELO.

Setewaa D3nky3 – D-Black: The con-themed movie by Black Avenue Muzik was directed by Justin Campos and shot in the US. The music video dubbed ‘’the movie’’ featured Dblack, DJ Breezy and Ndumy as lead characters in ‘The Gray Area’ movie series part one. Filled with captivating drama, the video exhibits Desmond Blackmore’s acting skills.

Yakubu – Kwaw Kese ft. Sarkodie & Ball J: Concept of the video comes off as the rappers inspired controversial case with the police. Title of the single ‘’Yakubu’’ is a name he acquired during his short jail stint thus decided to record a track for it. In the video, which was directed by Prince Dovlo, Kwaw Kese portrayed a kidnap plot detailing ‘the plan’, ‘’map’’ & ‘’execution’’ in a drama filled motion picture starring Deborah Vanessa.

Mansa – Bisa K’dei: Per the views it received in just three months, highlife singer Bisa K’dei’s ‘’Mansa’’ video would possibly pass as one of Gh’s recent videos with a million views in 90days. The dance song, shot by Xpress Films fused choreography with Funny Face making cameo dance moves.

Run Go – Stonebwoy: The video tells the story of four kids going about their daily life enjoying moments, while dealing with the struggles and friendly conflicts that comes with it. Directed by Joy Williams, the video mostly relates to a kid growing up in one of Ghana’s slum neighborhood and was directed by Joy Williams. The video fades out with one of the kids thinking about his parents after they were caught in the unfortunate June3, flood and fire disaster in Accra.

Hold Me Now - MzVee: Female Afro-pop and dancehall artiste MzVee in this video takes us through her very soft girly luxury lifestyle while reminiscing about her beloved one. The Phamous Philms directed video exhibited every element a good video should boast off with unique angle shots, quality picture that easily meets the eye.
