Beautiful Ghanaian actress Jasmine Baroudi has expressed concern about the nonchalance Ghanaian movie makers exhibit towards work.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Delories Frimpong Manso, known in showbiz as Delay on the “Delay show” Sunday, Jasmine, who has featured in movies like Adams Apples, lamented the lackadaisical output of Ghanaian when it comes to professionalism in movie making.
The Peep TV series actress who expressed displeasure and described their attitude as appalling said “Nothing is promised in the movie industry but I feel we can change things in the industry especially actors, producers, directors everyone, I mean sponsors and other stakeholders come secondary because I don’t believe someone will refuse a good production, I believe they don’t sponsor because they don’t like what they see, they don’t like it because we are at fault, our attitude towards work is appalling”.
Asked if there is still any motivation in the Ghanaian movie industry, the actress said even though the movie industry is not satisfactory enough, the only way it can grow to compete with the international market is when “unprofessional attitudes” are changed.
Movie director and producer, Eddy Nartey early this year attributed the ‘tortoise’ nature of the Ghanaian movie industry to the fact that most actors and actress do not read their scripts before moving on set for their shoot.
Also actress Nana Ama Mcbrown, Prince David Osei, Agya Koo, Martha Akomah and others have come out to attest to the fact that the Ghanaian movie industry is “dead”
Jasmine is a graduate of the University of Ghana where she studied Psychology. She has starred in movies like Adams Apples, Lost in His Glory, Contract, Double-Cross, Interception and TV Series such as Peep.
