Deputy Tourism Minister Nana Akomea has suggested that music with vulgar lyrics should be edited for play on radio and TV. The original versions could however be sold for people who want to enjoy them in the privacy of their homes.

Mr Akomea was adding his voice to the campaign aimed at reducing the level of profanity in the lyrics of Ghanaian musicians. He said it is important that the kind of songs that are played on air are not loaded with profane, as people of all ages have access to the media.

The minister was interacting with a section of local musicians present at the launch of the fourth Ghana Music Awards.
