Music has been part of our forefathers since ancient times. The art of doing music can be compared to any craft; man developing a valuable piece out of raw materials.

Eastern Region has produced several celebrated musicians, the likes of George Darko, Paa Solo, Daasebre Ahuofe Dwamena among others. Unfortunately, the up and coming musicians in the region seem to perform below the standard raised by their predecessors.

The factors contributing to not performing well are Managerial Problems, Failure to Rehearse Regularly and Nonavailability of Standard Recording Studios.

Many successful musicians are doing well in the industry because they had good management from the onset. The task of a good artiste manager is to supervise quality songs done, promotions, branding and other things.

Despite artistes end up having problems with Okraku Mante, he is one manager who ensures musicians under his guidance produce good works. Instances here in my region are different, artistes manage artistes, and they don't yield good results.

It is often said that the mind will accept lies if it is heard often enough. It is a fact that some artistes get songs written by writers, and others write by themselves, but it is also required of them to rehearse, memorize and sing or rap fluently.

I have known Mr. Samuel Atuobi Baah, the managing editor of this paper since 2006 when he was putting in different ideas to achieve his target. He was not much known to the people of Ghana at the time he was working on Dansoman Lens until he broke to Flex.

In this world, you ought to fix in more ideas, practice before you make a hit. What I have at the focal point is to organize the young artistes and groom them on a segment created on Sunrise FM multi-track show to exhibit their talents.

It is fascinating to know that up – to – standard studios cannot be found in the Eastern Region. The few studios here are not stuffed enough to do a quality job.

For every business minded person to enter into any venture, he weighs the prospects of the venture first before starting. If artistes here would put in much effort, the music industry will look like a lucrative avenue for business men to explore.

However, some of the young guys like A – Qube, Mbeez, Blaq Nacha Runks, Oteniba and 2 in One are facing all the challenges to hit higher heights.

What they need is financial support to do better, and with that there will be a tremendous change in the music industry in the Eastern part of the country.
