Musicians in the country have been called-up to preach peace whenever they mount the stage for live how.
The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGHA), Alhaji Siduku Buari made the appeal in an exclusive interview, with Peace FM on Thursday in Accra.
Alhaji Sidiku-Buari explained that, this year is critical in the history of our country because of the impending general elections and it is prudent for everybody in the country especially musicians to alert the masses of the need for peace to live as one people with a common destiny. He also urged musicians not to identify themselves with any political party because they are a unifying factor to the country.
He noted that, people of the political divide patronises the product of musicians and for a group or person to show openly his/her support for a political party is out of order.
The MUSIGHA President also reminded leaders of various political parties to avoid antagonism and insults against one another in their campaigns to ensure violence free elections in December this year.
