A Gospel singer, Ms Anne Baba has charged musicians to compose songs that can transform the nation morally and spiritually.
Ms Anne Baba, who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, at the weekend, said the nation needed songs that could turn the hearts and minds of the people, particularly the youth from sexual promiscuity and encourage them to lead moral and decent lifestyles.
She said such songs, would help the national crusade against the HIV/AIDS pandemic, since moral lyrics inspire virtue. "It is for this reason that musicians aught to critically examine their contributions to national development and endeavour to make the necessary amendments to suit national growth and accelerated social and economic development."
Ms Anne Baba asked stakeholders in the music industry to be innovative and spiritually oriented to check the production and marketing of morally reprehensive songs.
