Popular Ghanaian actor, Clement Bonney popularly known as Mr. Beautiful has been off our screens for sometime now. You would hardly see him in new Kumawood.
To many, he has been sidelined because of his NDC affiliation since he is known to be a campaigner for President John Mahama, but he has reacted differently to people’s claim.
According to him, his Fante dialect is the main reason he’s not getting movie roles but not his affiliation with NDC.
In an interview with Hitz Fm, when asked why he is not being featured in movies lately and whether it’s basically because of his affiliation with NDC…
He said, “No, it’s not because of my affiliation with NDC and President Mahama. I’m not being featured in movies lately because of my dialect. I speak Fante and you know Twi is predominantly the most spoken local dialect here in Ghana.”
He continued, “Movie producers are saying my Fanti is not selling their movies anymore so I should change my Fante and start speaking Twi before they would give me a role. It’s not because of NDC at all, it’s just because of my Fante.” Mr. Beautiful reveals.
He however, implored Ghanaians to tolerate other people’s party and should not forget that here in Ghana, we have Freedom of Association.
