The Ghanaian music industry has since its budding days seen minor misunderstanding between artists.

Unlike other professional fields, these misunderstandings are often referred to as ‘beef’ in the musical circus and the biggest and perhaps the most memorable one in Ghana if I can easily recollect is that of Obrafour and former hiplife rap champion now turned pastor Lord Kenya.

Although neither of the two nor their following physically assaulted each other unlike witnessed elsewhere in the West, the battle on words was just amazing as fans rushed for new records just when they were released, something rap legend Obrafour explains was a good move for their pockets.

In a publication on yfmghana, Obrafour discloses the ‘beef’ was never planned and there was no animosity between them unlike people are made to believe.

According to him, they needed sales and the ‘beef’ really helped at the time.

“There was no animosity or whatsoever between us and it wasn’t planned. We needed the sales and it really helped. Because any time Lord Kenya dropped his album, people rushed to buy it just to hear if he had thrown shots at me and any time I dropped my album people rushed to get the album just find out if I had thrown shots at him.”

Since then, the very question many have asked is “Do beefs really help? Well, I would love to have your comment at the bottom of this page.

Aside these artists, Ex Doe and Chicago also had a thing going on until their beef separated them.
