Aphia Sakyi the Ghanaian designer who made Janet Jackson’s beads, a legendary singer and sister to late Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson who rocked beautiful jewelry for her just-released “Made For Now” video says her work will take Ghana’s fashion industry to the world.

The video was to pay homage to Michael Jackson’s ‘Remember The Times’ featuring Eddie Murphy in an Egyptian style setting.

Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Light Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com’s Syxtus Eshun, Aphia Sakyi acknowledged, “My work will promote made in Ghana and lots of things”.

“We also have a saying like Africa to the world or Ghana to the world. However, for the moment our work has gotten to that level we have reached there and it is going to raise the standard of Ghana’s fashion to a higher level”, she said.

Janet Jackson ’s fine choice of jewelry was taken from Aphia Sakyi’s Summer Harmattan collection, titled ’50 Shades Of Print’ and this necklace, in particular, is called the ‘Yaa Asantewaa’ necklace.

The full collection of pieces for '50 shades of Print' is set to be released in September and outdoored on the runway for the first time at Accra Fashion Week this October.
