Star actress, Nana Ama McBrown has revealed how her first 'big' pay cheque turned out to be a deceptive tactic by a movie producer.
Narrating what happened, she said she landed a role in a 2007 movie and was handed a GHC500 cheque but it turned out that the producer did not have enough money in the account and was aware of it.
“The day I received the cheque, I was jittery for the stated day to go clear it. On that day I dressed up early for an Adum bank and presented it at the counter and was asked to wait.
The waiting period raised my suspicion and later, I was told to send back the cheque to the issuer because he had no funds in the account. I did and it would shock you he took it and gave me GH¢70”, she said.
Though this short lived her happiness and frustrated her, it did not deter her from pursuing the career she had chosen after quitting professional football.
