Highlife artiste, Ofori Amponsah, says he’s talking to his lawyers as regards some allegations and suggestions that he killed colleague artiste, and long-time friend Kofi B.
Kofi B was reported dead on Sunday, February 2, 2020, after he was rushed to the hospital following complaints of chest pains and unusual heartbeat. He had gone to the Central Region to perform at the birthday ceremony of the chief of Abease Dominase when the sad incident occurred.
After the passing of Kofi B, videos popped up on social media, where the late Kofi was seen complaining bitterly about treatment meted out to him by Ofori Amponsah, to the effect that a little misunderstanding between them caused Ofori to curse him.
It was unclear in the interview what the curse was, but social media and blogs went wild with accusations that Ofori Amponsah was the person behind the singers’ death.
But Ofori Amponsah, while reacting to the allegations said he had been friends with the late singer for close to twenty years and that he stands to gain nothing from killing a friend. He told Kofi Adoma, that Kofi B was not just a friend but a brother, and even though they had their misunderstandings, he was not God to kill another person. He called the bloggers and Ghanaians who shared the story fickle minded, for believing such lies.
He said “sometimes people who create such stories should be taken on because it is a very serious allegation. When you don’t have evidence but go-ahead to broadcast such a story… I mean I’m even talking to my lawyers I don’t want to talk for now”.
