Gospel songstress, Celestine Donkor says her existence in this world was by great intervention from God.

According to the Turning Around singer, her mother after having six children decided to abort her seventh pregnancy which happened to be her (Celestine Donkor).

She narrated circumstances surrounding her birth when it was her turn to take the Shades seat, a program shown on GhOne Television.

“I would say my birth was saved by Grace. My mom told me a story. According to my mom, after her sixth child, she decided not to give birth again so when I was conceived, she opted for an abortion,” she said.

She continued; “Hence her decision to see a fetish priest for some concoctions but things changed as the priest warned her never to try it because the child in her womb was going to be a star and if she tries, she will lose her life.”

Knowing how stubborn a determined woman can be, she made up her mind to try elsewhere.

“Not so happy and convinced about the outcome of the first place, my mom decided to try somewhere else. Just when she was about leaving, she fell and became weak. My mom was bed ridden became a vegetable until her time of labour. It was only at this time she was able to walk,” she narrated.

Celestine is married to Mr. Emmanuel Donkor an import and export dealer and they have two beautiful girls, Ohemaa and Maa Adwoa.
