My mother was the cause of my sickness - Murder suspect tells court

Juaso (Ash), Jan 30, GNA - A 32-year-old woman who is being tried provisionally for murdering her mother, allegedly for insulting her, on Monday told the court at Juaso that her late mother also cast a protracted ailment on her.

Yaa Ampofowaah, who reportedly slashed her mother to death after she (mother) had told her to take away her "madness", did not show any remorse or regret for her crime when she appeared in court. Not even the unprecedented number of people who had trooped to the court to catch a glimpse of her could make her sober as she expressed herself confidently.

The court did not take her plea.

According to the prosecution, investigations were still on-going and she was remanded into custody to re-appear on February 11.
