She was full of praises for her parents for bringing her up in a more Godly-way, when speaking to Melvina Frimpong Manso, on Showbiz 971, Suncity Radio, last Saturday.

“I owe my present steady and successful life to the kind of upbringing my parents gave,” Gloria Sarfo, astute Ghanaian Actress and Presenter, opened her response this way when she featured on the greatest weekend entertainment programme in the Brong Ahafo region, “Showbiz 971” aired on the region’s most authentic radio station, Suncity 97.1 FM, on the fore-noon Saturdays.

Gloria, widely known in the entertainment circles as Nana Ama, said she was brought up to cherish the virtues of God-fearing, cautiousness and humility and these made her unique in a very challenging and enticing industry like show business.

On her recent birthday treat for 12 aged actors and actresses, Nana Ama indicated that it had been a long cherished desire to give back to society that way and that she still has good plans for other old timers in the trade.

“I will spend my last pesewa to put a smile on the face of the needy,” she told Melvina of her benevolent heart; and urged wealthy people to support the needy in society – which is all that true religion stands for.

Nana Ama also used the platform to appeal to Ghanaian movie producers to urgently consider using the old stars to play natural aged characters in their movies, as it’s done in Nigeria, to keep them active and resourceful.

She also thanked the media for projecting her and many others to fame, and wished them well.
