Dancehall artiste, Samini has indicated that his tweet to the President Nana Akufo Addo asking to also be invited to the Seat of Government on his birthday was a jest and not to be taken serious.
The ‘My Own’ act speaking on Takoradi based Empire FM’s Entertainment Review with Feeling Daddy said he was pleased with the President’s reply to his colleague dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale which according to him shows good relationship between entertainment industry players and the Government.
“That was a joke, I was excited about fact that he was able to tweet at an artiste and the artiste replied and whatever they spoke about finally happened , so it is a sign that the president can hangout with us but really you don’t have to expect the president to be on twitter everyday to reply everyone…so I was just joking but on a serious note big up to the president but every Ghanaian will love to be at the flag staff house so if the opportunity comes why not grab it.”
Samini shared his opinion a day after Wale visited Prez. Akufo-Addo at the FlagStaff House and the tweet got showbiz lovers going “Crazy” with others attacking him finally cleared the air.
In the tweet directed at the president he said :
“Nakufoaddo thanks for bridging the gap between entertainment and government. Now that doors are open, December 22 is #myown oo akye.”
Samini, who recently appointed Africa 1 Media as his new Management Team, will kick off the bus tour during the festive season, making stops for performances in Tarkwa, Takoradi, Agbozume, Bolgatanga, Sunyani, Kumasi and Accra.
The tour will serve as a prelude to the release of Samini’s highly anticipated 7th studio album, which will be followed by the return of Saminifest in 2018.
Samini’s track ‘My Own,’ done on the Reggaefest Riddim, is one of the popular Reggae songs released in 2017.
