Sun, 12 Sep 2004 Source: ghanamusic.com

Mzbel Awesome Miss Belinda Ekua Amoah has been making lots of waves in the industry ever since she outpoured her most controversial album ?Awoso Me?.

Many people have called her hot and sexy, others have called her talented, some have also called her sweet and then again others have called her profane and the list goes on. But Nana, as she is affectionately called, herself says she is very nervous to even appear in public.

The very emotional and rather talkative Mzbel in an interview with Graphic Showbiz talked extensively about her disappointment with what happened at Obour?s show a few weeks ago and expressed her regrets. She vowed never to engage herself in such an explicit performance. ?I?ll never do it again? she said.

However she has learnt from her mistakes and has decided to further her career in ways that show the ?who? in her rather than what people expect of her.

In her younger years, Mzbel never thought she?d become a musician, rather she had harboured hopes of joining Azigiza?s dance group in those years and had been frustrated in her pursuit of that dream.

In her answer to the question about how she was discovered, Mzbel smiles and says that it all begun when she started work at Hush Hush Studios some time back, during this time she casually wrote lyrics and sang or rapped in the studio which was rather new.

As time went by, Mzbel?s lyrics were found and loved by many who listened to them and she was taken on by Daniel Adjei, her producer.

It took a long time for the decision to release the album to taken and ever since she has been impressed by its performance on the music scene.

Graphic Showbiz (GS): Is Mzbel Sexy?
Mzbel: I am myself?if people say I?m sexy, fine. If they say I?m anything else fine.
GS: How does your partner feel about this?
MB: My partner happens to be my producer and likes it when I perform like that and even encourages me to show a little flesh. I perform so that I bring out the feminine side of myself on stage.
GS: What do you do in your spare time?
MB: Not much, in fact I like swimming and I go to the gym a lot. Otherwise I like to stay at home and think.

She loves to eat gari and thick palm nut soup and also likes to listen to R&B, Beyonce and Mariah Carey are her favourites.

Mzbel has fledgling business as a graphic editor and loves what she does immensely.

She is currently in the studio working on her next album and is glad to be nominated for the Ghana Music Awards category of best female vocal and best new artiste of the year.

Mzbel is looking forward to a very good future with her music and says to watch out for more raps because she does that better than singing.
