Mzbel One of the four suspected armed robbers who attacked hiplife artiste Nana Ama Amoah, alias Mzbel, at her residence at Gbawe and later escaped from the Odorkor Police Station cells has been recaptured.

The suspect, Kenneth Agbozo, 22, was re-arrested at Agbozume in the Volta Region following a tip-off.

According to the Accra Regional Police Crime Officer Superintendent Boi-Bi-Boi, on October 17, 2007, the police had information that one of the suspects who had escaped from the Odorkor Police Station cells during the jailbreak was hiding at a village near Agbozume.

He said a group of policemen was immediately dispatched to the area to effect his arrest but on the arrival of the police, the suspect was nowhere to be found.

He said the police later had information that the suspect had crossed the border to Lome and would be back later so the policemen laid ambush for four days and recaptured and brought him to Accra as soon as he returned to the village.

Upon interrogation, Kenneth told the police that on the day of the jailbreak, he had heard a big bang while he was asleep and when he got up, he saw some of the suspects running out of the cell so he followed them.

He said he managed to hide in Accra and when the tension went down, he left for the village and had been there till his arrest.

On September 12, 2006 the four suspects; Munkaila Tahiru, Emmanuel Agozie, Kojo Aboagye and Kenneth Agbozo, attacked Mzbel and one of her dancers, Bernice Botsway, at her residence at Gbawe.

The robbers, wielding pistols, knives and clubs, made away with a laptop, a digital camera, two DVD players, both foreign and local currencies and other valuables.

On October, 27, 2006, Mzbel identified three of her attackers at the La Pleasure Beach and raised an alarm that led to their arrest.

They were detained at the Odorkor Police Station cells for further investigations but they allegedly threw pepper into the eyes of the policeman on duty and managed to escape.
