Chairman of the National Democratic Congress’ Coronavirus technical team, Prosper Bani has revealed that the party is available to support the NPP government in the fight against the deadly pandemic.
He made the statement in an interview with GhanaWeb at the Agbogbloshie market where his team presented food and other relief items to the market women.
“As it is now, our priority is to ensure that all Ghanaians make the effort to free themselves from the Coronavirus. Indeed, it is the intention of the NDC to work with all parties including government to ensure that we flatten the curve of the spread of the disease,” he said.
Mr. Bani added that the NDC decided to support Kayayies because they have been one of the most affected groups of people, as they are enduring increased hardship during the lockdown.
“The NDC party is making a presentation today to the kayayies here who have been working tirelessly to serve our community. We are doing this because of the suffering and pain that the lockdown has brought on our people,” he said.
He however advised Ghanaians to strictly obey the directives of the government in order to preserve many lives.
“We anticipate that as long as the government continues to make new tests, our numbers will increase. We hope that with the adherence of protocols of safety, we will flatten the curve sooner than later. We are calling on the market women, kayayies and everybody to continue to respect the directives,” he concluded.
