He is undeniably one of the finest artists in Africa; this fact can be backed with his numerous nominations in various awards schemes across the continent, his stage act and his ability to attract foreign record labels to his table almost every blessed day.

Not too long ago, Konvict Africa was in Ghana to sign the fast rapper, an event that stirred a lot of controversy and debate all across the country. For most people the story was too good to be true, a phenomena I would describe rather unfortunate.

A UK based company has also shown interest in the Artiste of the year, by expressing their interest in landing his signature, adding to the long list of companies who have shown interest in the T.E.M.A boy.

NVA Management was founded in 2004 and is part of the business primarily concerned with the representation of UK and international sports personalities. As of 2010, clients included the Manchester United Centre Back and England Captain Rio Ferdinand, Brazilian footballer Robinho, Aston Villa Defender Curtis Davies, Chelsea Captain and England defender John Terry, as well as World Record holding sprinter Usain Bolt. Mario Balotelli is also a client; such is Antonio Valencia of Manchester United and Ghanaian international, Daniel Opare who recently moved from Real Madrid to Standard Liege.

NVA has also promoted the UK shows of global acts such as P Diddy, Usher, Lil Wayne, Mario and Destiny’s Child. Since then, the company has worked with a variety of clients including Coca-Cola, BlackBerry, Sony PlayStation, Mars and Rock and Republic. The NVA Management Group is in Ghana to set up and have targeted some big names in the industry and Sarkodie seems to top the list.

In a press release NVA had these few words to say “Our firm has realized the vacancy that craves our involvement and hence the decision by management to establish NVA Entertainment Group Ghana. In our quest NVA Entertainment group is bringing its world class expertise in the various fields of entertainment to Ghana to ensure that equal quality services are enjoyed by all regardless of geographical definitions.”

They added, "We are all of a Ghanaian heritage, hence wanting to put back into our mother land. Ghana is the ideal African location for us to set up an office and create various opportunities for young innovative minds like ourselves and change the way Ghanaian entertainment is controlled. This is the dream and driving force. NVA introduces itself to the Ghanaian populace through its conspicuous and highly distinguished reputation and we hope to expand by recruiting top Ghanaian talent which will also in turn create working opportunities for the local community.” The big Question then is, can NVA sign Sarkodie and what happens to Konvict Africa’s contract then? All these questions would be answered as the days unfold, but definitely some good news for Ghanaian music.
