Manhattan, NY -- While the Kwahu South District, Ghana was blazing with people from all walks of life celebrating the easter including a Paragliding festival, Kwahuman Association of New York also had been preparing to turn New York upside down. Every year the Easter weekend in New York is reserved for the biggest event organized by the Kwahuman Association of New York; The Easter Dance. It is always fun and well attended.
The Easter Dance was held at the usual venue, Armenia Hall in Manhattan, NY and this year included an incredible performance by comedian who brought the house down with laughter all night long. The comedian is known as Ghanaboy who is destined for superstardom.
His Excellency, Hon. Obeng Gyan-Busia, Consul General, Ghana Missions, was the Guest of Honour (He is always seen gracing an occasion) and dignitaries included; the young and hardworking; Executive Secretary-General of NCOGA; Alhaji Mardah, the well respected Deputy Executive Secretary-General; Ms Rose Quarshie, executive members of NCOGA, Billy Braithwaite, Sales & Marketing Manager for North American Airlines and representatives from other associations.
The newly elected executive members of Kwahuman NY led by Eto Sam were sworn in by the Hon. Obeng Gyan-Busia and Eto Sam flanked by his wife (First lady) used the occasion to offer his special thanks for being elected as the new President of Kwahuman Association of New York. Specials awards were presented to executive members for their dedication and sacrifice including the former President; Nana Koo Fosu.
The event was hosted by the Nana Kwabena Adom and Steve Adjei. Music was provided by Kissi Soundz featuring DJ Dynamic and supported by MC Papa Link and the Boogie Productions crew.
A week before the Easter Dance, there was an election held by the Kwahuman Association to choose the new President. The battle for the Kwahuman New York's presidency was a "hot" one but in the end, the well known Eto Sam won a landslide victory. Congratulations to the new executives.
