Nana Aba Anamoah speaks about life after TV3

GhOne's award winning news anchor, Nana Aba Anamoah, has said that life after leaving TV3 following her controversial exit from one of Ghana's more popular television stations has been better than ever for her.

According to the award winning female presenter, TV3's much criticized decision to take her off air indefinitely due to what she described as a joke on social media was an eye-opener. She related that the incident taught her a lesson, that although one aught to be loyal to one's employers, one also needs to be a little selfish in order to look out for one's best interests.

"I would want everyone to be loyal to their employers but in being loyal, they should also try to make themselves happy because even your superiors also look out for themselves sometimes....That is the mistake I made at TV3, I put the station ahead of my interest all the time but when it came to the most critical aspect of my life, they turned their backs on me." Said Nana Aba Anamoah.

Nana Aba Anamoah's troubles with TV3 began after she shared an altered photo of herself on social media suggesting that she was at Old Trafford - Manchester United's home stadium - to watch a game between Sunderland and Manchester United two years ago. A user who took the original picture took to social media after seeing Nana Aba's post shared more pictures and established that the photos belonged to him, and not Nana Aba Anamoah.

After trending on social media, TV3 released a statement revealing that it was taking Nana Aba Anamoah off air due to the issue, something the station received a lot of flak on social media for.

Commenting on her new position at GhOne, a brand under the EIB group of companies, Nana Aba said that she chose the relatively young station because she wanted a brand where she could use her experience to make an impact.

She revealed that since her move to GhOne, she's had more interaction with different media platforms, from radio to newspaper, and that that has gotten to understand more about these varied forms of media.

"...now I’ve moved to a different brand with different people and this is an even bigger platform. So now, I’m getting to understand radio, sometimes I go to Starr FM, I go to Heritage to understand how newspapers operate. I’ve actually opened up more and I’m trying to learn a lot of different things,” said Nana Aba.
