Nana Aba Anamoah of GHOne TV has been adjudged the media personality of the year, at this year’s edition of the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards held at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) on Saturday.

She beat competition from personalities like Bernard Avle of Citi FM, Patrick Osei Agyemang (Country Man Songo) of Adom TV and Abeiku Santana of Okay FM to win the media personality of the year award.

The night also saw Nana Aba Anamoah taking home another award; television development show host of the year.

The 9th edition of the awards was organized by Big Event Ghana, to reward radio and television personalities who have over the years contributed immensely towards the development of radio and television in Ghana.

The awards ceremony attracted a large number of radio and television personalities, the media and a section of the stakeholders in the creative industry.

Despite Group emerged the best media group of the year, with Peace FM, a subsidiary network of Despite Group, winning the radio station of the year award.

United Television (UTV) was adjudged TV station of the year and its morning show programme, Adekye Nsroma, won the TV programme of the year award.

The host of Peace FM’s mid-morning show, Kofi Kum Bilson, was adjudged radio mid-morning show host of the year. Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie of Okay FM also won the radio morning show host of the year.

The host of Wo How Ne Sen on Peace FM, Nana Yaa Konadu, took home radio development show host of the year, with Francis Abban of Starr FM taking home best radio personality of the year award (Greater Accra Region).

This year, over 30 industry players were rewarded for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the development of the radio and television industry in Ghana.

Honorary awards were given to thriving media personalities like Professor Dr Kwame Kyei, owner of Vision1 FM, Light FM and Light TV; Alhaji Seidu Agongo, owner of Accra FM, Class FM, Number1 FM and CTV; Dennis Kojo Anderson, owner of Praise TV Ghana.
