Legendary musician Abirekyieba Kofi Sammy has passionately appealed to the president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to stop the general assembly meeting of the Ghmaro from coming off on Friday in Kumasi.

The 77-year-old Abirekyieba Kofi Sammy who started his music carrier in the early 50s and has produced a lot of hits like Yellow Ceccy, among others. Abirekyieba, together with the United Concerned Musicians of Ghamro, led by legendary Randy Nunoo, has been in the news for fighting and having a hot argument with the president of GHAMRO Kojo Antwi on the issues surrounding unaccounted royalties collected on behalf of musicians.

The general assembly meeting was officially scheduled to come off in Accra–but according to the legendary musician, he can’t fathom why the Kojo Antwi led administration has moved the meeting to Kumasi. He stated that, the leadership is doing every thing possible to frustrate them, but nothing will frustrate them.

“I’m pleading with President Nana Addo to stop the general assembly meeting from coming off…I just don’t understand why they have moved the meeting to Kumasi.What are they hiding? They are doing this to frustrate us but it would never work–I’m making a humble appeal to Nana Addo to halt the meeting else the Government of Ghana will be held responsible if anything should happen at the meeting”,He told Dj Sirray of Atebubu FM

The “Yellow Ceccy” hitz maker also called on all musicians and music right owners to trip to Kumasi cultural center ‘APATAKESIE ASE’ to witness all that will happen at the meeting.
