Singer, Nana Yaa has stated that she has put on hold childbirth to focus on her music career.

According to the daughter of legendary Pat Thomas, she is content with the two she already has, adding that her career will be affected if she decides to have more children.

“I’m okay with the two kids. It’s a boy and a girl so I would like to focus more on music and hopefully, come back with one or two more. Who knows? At the moment, it will be difficult having more because the two are not grown. The eldest is four years,” she told Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show, Brunch2Lunch.

Nana Yaa who has worked with many great Ghanaian musicians including Pat Thomas, Amanzeba, Kojo Antwi and Tagoe Sisters explained that she was unable to release her album at the time most people expected her to because her manager at the time passed on while they were recording.

She admitted that the sad incident stalled her music career.

“That set me back. Later, I decided to sit and think about what I really wanted to do and the direction I would want to go as a musician. At the same time, I wanted to have a family. I met another producer in London, we worked on another album that wasn’t released. In between that, I met my husband, we had two kids and I decided that the family thing has been done. I need to do my music,” she recounted.

Nana Yaa is out with a single titled, ‘Handkerchief which features Samini. On why she featured the ‘Linda’ hit-maker, Nana Yaa said, “I chose Samini because I wanted the ‘Linda’ vibe and he did just that.”

‘Handkerchief’ is a song which talks about long distance relationships. According to Nana Yaa, she relates to the song because, she has been in long distance relationships.
