National Theatre presents 5-year strategic plan to Minister

The National Theatre of Ghana has presented its five-year strategic plan to Mrs Catherine Afeku, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

The Theatre was represented by the Board Chairman, Nana Fredua Ofori-Atta and Mrs Amy Appiah Frimpong, Executive Director. The Board Chairman stated that the delegation was there on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff to formally make the presentation seeking the endorsement of the Minister for its immediate implementation.

The Executive Director explained the essence of the strategic plan and the goals the Theatre seeks to achieve in order to attain its vision and mission over the next five years.

"The primary vision of the Theatre is to be the beacon of the performing arts for Ghana" Mrs Frimpong stated, adding that "this [vision] is developed from the law and the purpose for which it was set up."

The Board Chairman expressed gratitude to the Minister for her motivation in supporting the effort. "We believe that now that we have this plan the Ministry and all stakeholders will join forces with us to ensure the success of the Theatre", he added.

The Minister congratulated the Board, Management and Staff and asked them to be dynamic and efficient in the execution of the plan as it would be the propeller for the performing arts into the future.

"There are many lives, particularly the youth, with all their skills and talents, depending on your success for their progress and we at the Ministry will play our part to make that happen," Hon. Afeku stated.
